Founded in 1932 by Kashi Kanto Roychowdhury, to represent European Laboratory equipment manufacturers in India with it's corporate office at Kolkata, K.Roy (India) Private Limited began its journey under the leadership of H.L. Roychowdhury, the visionary patriarch of the Roychowdhury family, as a manufacturer of single pan and double pan balances for institutes and industries of a newly Independent India.
The company’s next phase of growth was led by his son, Mr D. Roychowdhury, who expanded the business and spearheaded the development of its Electronics Division, marking an important step in the company’s evolution towards electronic weighing technology.
